Queued Observations

This article explains how to help identify whether recently submitted Observations are still in the Observation Queue due to limited or unavailable internet connection.

Written by Brandon Hull

Why This Happens

Vision InSites can continue working when your device has limited or no internet connection.

If you create an Observation while offline or while your connection is weak, the Observation will be placed in a queue. Once your device reconnects to a strong signal with enough bandwidth, the queued Observation will automatically finish submitting.

Step 1: Check for Queued Observations

Look at the top left corner of the Vision InSites app.

If you see a number there, that number reflects how many Observations are currently waiting in queue.

Step 2: Connect to a Strong Signal

Make sure your device is connected to a strong internet connection.

Queued Observations will automatically continue submitting once Vision InSites has enough signal and bandwidth.

Step 3: Close Other Apps

Close any other apps that may be using internet bandwidth on your device.

This can help Vision InSites complete the submission process more efficiently.

Step 4: Allow Time for Attachments to Upload

Observations with more attachments may take longer to finalize.

This includes Observations with multiple pictures, videos, or long video files.

  • Observed at reflects the time the task or observation was made by the guard.

  • Received at reflects the time the task or observation made it to the server

⚠️ Important: Do Not Uninstall the App

Do not uninstall the Vision InSites app while Observations are in queue.

If the app is uninstalled while Observations are queued, those Observations will be permanently lost and cannot be recovered.
