How to add and modify notification preferences

Notification Preferences allow client contacts to receive scheduled reports or be notified on occurrence of specified activity.

Notification preferences can be set up for your client contacts, not to be confused with site contacts.

Client Contact Setup

  • Navigate to the Clients tab.

  • Find the client you would like to set up notification preferences for.

  • Create the contact using the New Contact button.

    • If you've already created the contact, they will be displayed in the contacts section.

  • Enter your clients name, phone number, and email.

  • Click Create Contact.


Notification Preferences Setup

  • Click into the contact you want to create the notification preference for.

  • Click on the Add New button

    • If you're just trying to modify an existing notification preference, click into that notification preference

  • Choose between the two delivery triggers

    • Scheduled: will be sent on select days at the specified time

    • On Occurrence: will notify your client when an event of the specified priority level occurs.

  • Select the preferred method of delivery between email and sms(text message)

  • Choose the category

    • All Categories is selected by default, but if you want to narrow down what your client receives, select that option from the drop down menu.

If you selected the Scheduled delivery trigger:

  • Schedule & Timing

    • Select the days of the week that you want your client to receive these notifications.

    • Select the report time for your client to receive the notification.

    • Choose the report sort order. The default Priority(high to low) will automatically put high priority activity at the top of the report, with the rest of the activity(medium and low priority) in chronological order below it.

    • If your client wants a PDF version of the report, make sure to check the box in Reporting Options

If you selected the On Occurrence delivery trigger:

  • Alert Priority

    • High priority: fire, flood, blood, or emergency responses.

    • Medium priority: unusual but non-emergent observations such as graffiti, illegal dumping, or burnt-out lights.

    • Low priority: routine activity such as checkpoints, procedures, openings & closings.

  • Site Selection

    • Select the site(s) that are applicable for this notification.

    • If this contact needs to be notified in regards to multiple sites make sure you select all that apply.

  • Click the Create Notification Preference button.
